Hi!
My name is Darcie Thomas and I am very proud to be a Wild Cat! I have been teaching for 12 years and I have taught every grade from pre-kindergarten to grade 12.  I am excited to be a part of St. Francis and have a lot to offer the students, staff and school.  Throughout the years I have received training in various 21st Century learning including: Response to Intervention, Project Based Learning, Professional Learning Communities, Level B Assessment, Aboriginal Youth Education Initiative in Entrepreneurship, FNMI, Peer Mentoring, Healthy Relationships, Praying in Colour and more!
'"
This year our district theme is "Rooted in Christ" and I am excited to incorporate that into my classroom as my students and myself walk together and look at how we can grow in faith, life and education.  My faith, school, church, community and family are very important parts of my life and journey that I am embarking on and I look forward to sharing these virtues with your child

My claim to fame is having the former Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Paul Martin, spend a morning in my class watching my students present their business plans that they learned how to do in my entrepreneurship class.

My style of teaching is based on the philosophy of being a 21st century learner.  Therefore, my classes are taught on a "need to know" basis and there is a lot of "voice and choice.  Your child will be doing projects in LA, Social Studies and Fusion Friday!
